This Rath trombone has been well used over the years and couldn’t be described as immaculate, but it certainly has been well looked after. It is showing the usual signs of wear & tear with some lacquer wear around the top of the hand slide and a few mute dents which have been removed. The hand slide is superb, and has been completely re-aligned and set up beautifully.
It is also supplied with a straight Bb gooseneck which allows the bell section to be transformed into a straight Bb tenor (therefore removing the Hagmann valve & ‘F’ slide). This is a real bonus.
It is sold with the standard set-up – see the specifications below:
- Bore 0.547 – 13.90 mm
- Hagmann valve
- Cup size Ø 8-1/2″ (215.90 mm)
- Bell made of red brass
- Outer slide made of red brass
- Tuning slide and complete ‘F’ section made from yellow brass
- Leadpipe No 4 taper
- Clear lacquer finish
- No mouthpiece supplied
- Supplied with a Protec case.
If you’re looking for something a little bit special, then this Rath R4 is certainly worth a look at.
